Fractional Content Strategist
Ongoing Contract / Fractional Role
Driven Studio | Burlington, Vermont
Driven Studio is looking for a smart, culturally curious, highly collaborative Fractional Content Strategist to join our team on an ongoing contract basis.
This person will work closely with Driven’s creative team on a regional retail brand with a strong, loyal customer base and an opportunity to grow its audience even further. We’ll be creating the brand’s social content from the ground up, from everyday organic storytelling to larger campaigns and paid advertising, with one primary goal: create content that makes people want to walk through the door.
We’re looking for someone who understands that great social content isn’t just about filling a calendar. It’s about understanding the audience, finding the stories worth telling, knowing what belongs on which platform, and helping a creative team turn strategy into work people actually want to watch, share, and act on.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work alongside Driven’s creative directors, designers, photographers, videographers, editors, copywriters, and account team to help shape an ongoing social and content strategy.
That could include:
Developing monthly and seasonal content strategies
Identifying content pillars, themes, campaigns, and recurring social series
Helping build content calendars across platforms
Turning business goals into clear creative opportunities
Identifying ways to speak to both loyal customers and new audiences
Helping balance brand storytelling, community engagement, product promotion, and advertising
Bringing ideas for seasonal moments, trends, partnerships, events, and culturally relevant content
Working with the Driven team to determine what content should be organic versus paid
Reviewing content performance and helping us understand what’s working, what isn’t, and what we should try next
Helping ensure the work feels consistent, thoughtful, useful, and distinctly human
Who We’re Looking For
You’re someone who thinks strategically but also loves making things happen.
You understand social media, but you’re not chasing every trend just because it exists. You know how to build a content program around a real brand, a real audience, and real business goals.
You probably have experience working with consumer brands, retail, food, beverage, hospitality, lifestyle, or other businesses where community and customer loyalty matter.
You’re comfortable walking into a room with a creative team and saying, Here’s what we’re trying to accomplish. Here’s what our audience cares about. Now let’s make something great.
You should be:
A strong strategic thinker
An excellent communicator and collaborator
Comfortable developing ideas as well as evaluating them
Deeply familiar with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and the broader social landscape
Able to think across organic content and paid social
Comfortable using data and performance insights without letting analytics suck the life out of the creative
Curious about people, culture, food, retail, and what motivates someone to choose one brand over another
Organized enough to keep an ongoing content program moving without making the process feel bureaucratic
What This Role Is Not
This isn’t a full-time social media manager position.
This is not a content creator roll. Driven has a full creative and production team for that.
We’re looking for someone who can help us figure out what we should make, why we should make it, who it’s for, and how all the pieces work together.
The Details
This is an ongoing fractional contract position, not a full-time staff role.
The amount of time may fluctuate depending on campaigns, planning cycles, and production schedules, but we’re looking for someone who can become a consistent extension of the Driven team and develop a deep understanding of the client, their customers, and the work.
Local or regional candidates are a plus, particularly someone who understands Vermont and the surrounding community, but we’re most interested in finding the right person.
If you’re a strategist who loves great creative, understands how brands build genuine relationships with customers, and wants to help us create work that gets people off their phones and into a store, we’d love to hear from you.
Send us a little about yourself, examples of relevant work, and why you think you’d be a good fit for Driven Studio.
